Why, How and When of Patient Co-Creation to Drive Product Development and Adoption

October 16, 2019
2:30pm - 5:30pm
Harborview 2/3
Developing the right product for the right patient is foundational to healthcare innovation and tapping into the voice of the patient early in the commercialization process is vital. Patients often uncover hidden insights, inspire new ideas, bring innovators back to reality, and help position innovations for commercial success. They are the product developers, designers, and marketers of tomorrow and Health innovators who want to win must invite patients to be active participants in the product innovation process. Those who develop products with patients' insights, expectations, and perceived value in mind can make more informed commercialization decisions, better use organizational resources, significantly lower their risk of failure, and boost their chances for sustained end-user adoption. In this workshop, health innovators will learn why, how and when to involve patients in the product co-creation process. Participants will learn a 5-step framework that includes five "Co-s": co-ideation, co-valuation, co-design, co-test, and co-launch. Each "Co's" represents a phase of the product innovation process that results in dynamic and ongoing interactions among resources, actions, and a group of target patients. Facilitated by Dr. Roxie Mooney, DBA from Legacy DNA and David Goldsmith, Chief Strategy Officer at WEGO Health.Apparel
