CONNECTED HEALTH CONFERENCE • SAVE THE DATE • October 16-18, 2019 • Boston, MA
Technology has enabled us to live longer and richer lives. From aqueducts, to vaccines, to proton generators, to the ongoing emergence of cell and gene therapies, technology has transformed our very existence. But it’s also true that some healthcare tech has led to unintended consequences such as a breakdown of the patient-provider relationship, physician burnout, and patients at times trusting Dr. Google more than their providers. We suggest starting with human needs—those of both patients and providers—and then using only the tech that addresses those needs. Directly. Effectively. We’ll share examples from our own human-centered design approach to healthcare that demonstrate better results, for all stakeholders.
