As the Chief Experience Officer at Cleveland Clinic, Adrienne Boissy, MD, MA, lives and breathes patient experience every day. Her responsibilities include everything from architecture and design to the patient portal and other patient facing apps for this northeast Ohio health system with an international scope. As a practicing neurologist and medical ethicists, the interaction of the healthcare team and patients and families is key. Much of her focus is delivering information to patients and families in a clear and empathic manner whether this is face-to-face at the bedside or virtually through secure messaging or eVisits. Her paper on the NEJM Catalyst, she discussed patient experience and Patient Engagement emphasizing the context of engagement and the need for active participation by patients. Dr. Boissy will keynote at the Connected Health Conference on the Patient Experience.
