WASHINGTON, DC and BOSTON, SEPTEMBER 7, 2017 -- The Personal Connected Health Alliance (PCHAlliance) today announced a series of special events and a full day of deep dive sessions that will kick off the 2017 Connected Health Conference (CHC17), covering cutting-edge topics including digital therapeutics, artificial intelligence (AI), voice-activated technologies and the innovation economy.

"There are a number of compelling issues and opportunities that are emerging in connected health, which will be explored during a full day of deep dive pre-conference sessions and special events," said Richard Scarfo, Vice President, PCHAlliance, and Director of the Connected Health Conference.  "Technologies ranging from digital therapeutics and artificial intelligence to voice-activated technologies are poised to revolutionize how we think about health and wellness, and how we address our aging population.  Attendees will gain market insights, learn business strategies and experience the latest technologies that will put them a step ahead."

Fueling the Innovation Economy in Connected Health: An Ecosystem Approach will highlight unique collaborations, public-private partnerships and economic development initiatives that are radically de-risking innovation and leading to faster adoption and scale of digital health technologies. Innovating Your Organization with Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a workshop with expert facilitators and healthcare executives presenting capabilities, trends and common use cases, the benefits of AI for healthcare organizations, the potential risks and challenges of using AI, and next steps to prepare for adoption of AI. Hosted by Catalaize; October 26.

Wearables, IoT and Natural Language in Healthcare is where thought leaders will discuss the state of the market in wearables, and the transformative potential of voice and chat as the new interface for healthcare. Hosted by MoDev; October 25.

Life Sciences and MedTech Roundtable is a half-day interactive program that will explore the emerging category of digital therapeutics, the evolution of traditional pharma and medical technology business models and regulatory challenges and opportunities for leveraging digital and communications technologies in products and services. Connected Health and the Smart Home: Assessing the Crossover Opportunities brings together analysts and industry executives to discuss the role of health for the connected consumer and strategies to deliver healthcare innovations through a connected and intelligent home. The Digital Health Society: Europe Meets North America full day workshop brings together stakeholders from US, Canada and Europe to exchange views and strategies, and discuss specific challenges such as interoperability standards, data-governance and market access, and discover partnerships and business opportunities from both side of the Atlantic.  Hosted by ECHAlliance; October 25.

Society for Participatory Medicine: Transforming the Culture of Care will feature speakers putting Participatory Medicine into practice--and changing lives and the culture of health care.  Topics will include shared decision making; medical education to foster collaborative and coordinated care; and the impact of design intervention on health engagement. Hosted by the Society for Participatory Medicine; October 25.

7th Annual Health Tech StandOut! Competition (formerly the Innovators Challenge) will feature rapid fire presentations by ten of the most innovative startups chosen by a panel of experts and thought-leaders, including sensors, technology platforms used by consumers or patients, "connected" consumer products, population health initiatives, mental health programs, fitness and wellness solutions, and targeted digital interventions that address pain management, program on-boarding, or other types of digitally-enabled solutions. Partners Connected Health

Partners Connected Health is leveraging information technology – mobile phones, tablets, wearables, sensors and remote health monitoring tools – to deliver quality patient care outside of traditional medical settings. Partners Connected Health programs are also helping providers and patients better manage chronic conditions, maintain health and wellness and improve adherence, engagement and clinical outcomes.
